Getting to design this cookbook spread was an awesome experience in understanding typography and layout. The recipe was for vegan burritos so I decided to go with a sort of retro hippie aesthetic, picking typefaces that exemplified that look while still remaining legible. Working with given copy text was a challenge at first, but ultimately allowed me to focus on the arrangement of information and overall look of the spread without having to worry about the wording of the recipe.
